Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday forwarded Home Minister G Parameshwara’s resignation letter to the Governor Vajubhai Vala.
Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office said Siddaramaiah will keep the Home portfolio with himself. The chief minister is likely to expand his Cabinet in the first week of next month.
Parameshwara, who is also KPCC president, had submitted the resignation letter to the chief minister on June 1 following a direction from the Congress high command. But, Siddaramaiah had asked him to continue in the post till the end of the monsoon session of the legislature. The session ended on June 21.
