Super Varun shines with all ten scalps

Last Updated 23 June 2017, 20:53 IST

Lloyd Sports Foundation’s Varun Soragavi achieved a rare feat by bagging all the ten wickets against Guledgudda Cricket Club in their KSCA Raichur Zone’s III Division tie here on Friday.

The local lad took a hat-trick and returned figures of 10/36 to set up Lloyd Sports’ eight-wicket victory in a lop-sided affair.

The right-arm medium pacer wreaked havoc in his eight-over effort as Guledgudda CC were skittled out for a lowly 70 in 15 overs. Five of Varun’s dismissals were bowled while two fell victims to leg before wicket and the rest were out caught.

Such was the dominance of Varun that only Akash S, who slammed 23 of 18 balls, reached the double-figure mark.

Varun was in his elements with the bat too, slamming 58 with the help of ten fours, as Lloyd Sports knocked down the target in just nine overs.

Son of Sreeshaila Soragavi and Veena, Varun is a third-year Mechanical Engineering student in BMS College (Yelahanka) in Bengaluru. Varun, had earlier played for Karnataka in the all-India school-level cricket.
Brief scores: Guledgudda CC: 70 all out in 15 overs (Akash S 23; Varun 10/36) lt to Lloyd Sports Foundation: 71/2 in 9 overs (Varun 58).
