The BJP on Monday approached the Election Commission, seeking disqualification of Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav from the state Assembly for withholding details of his assets from the election affidavit in 2015.

A BJP delegation led by Sushil Kumar Modi requested the election watchdog to get a criminal case registered against Tej, son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, to probe violations of the Representation of the People Act and the Indian Penal Code.

The former deputy chief minister of Bihar, Modi shared with the Election Commission information about a property he claimed Tej had bought in Aurangabad in 2010.

The BJP leader claimed that Tej had not disclosed in the election affidavit that he owned the Aurangabad property.

Modi has been levelling charges of corruption against Lalu and his children.
