'I've promised myself to get up early'
fresh voice: Rahul Pandey
Back in action, Rahul has lent his voice for two peppy numbers in the upcoming film ‘Munna Michael’ starring Tiger Shroff.
In a candid conversation with Surupasree Sarmmah, the talented singer talks about his love for Bryan Adams’ songs and more.
You came to Mumbai to pursue Business Management...
My parents had only one condition — that I finish my post graduation before I dive into what I wanted to. That is why I actually came to Mumbai which I guess was the right decision. A creative field of any sort is little unpredictable, so with a good educational background, one always has an option to fall back on.
So how did you shift to music?
Well, music has been a part of my life from a very young age. Since I was born and brought up in Kolkata, it was natural to have some kind of connect with the creative field. I joined an MNC after my post graduation and worked there for a while, but it became too stressful for me. I thought of continuing my music simultaneously but there was no time at all, so I left my job. Today, I am doing what I am passionate about.
‘Haseena Tu Kameena Mein’ was you debut song and it was well appreciated. What are your expectations from the two songs you sang in ‘Munna Michael’?
The two songs are really groovy and the best part is both these songs are fresh. They have a Western and a little bit of international retro music feel to them. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping people will love the songs.
Is there a routine you follow...
Honestly, I come home really late after work. So I wake up equally late, which is then followed by a workout and practice session for half an hour. But I’ve promised myself to get up early from now on (laughs).
