A 53-year-old man riding a two-wheeler was killed and two students were injured when two motorbikes collided on a flyover in Peenya, north Bengaluru, Thursday night.

Raghuramaiah, a garment factory worker, was returning home to Arisinakunte when another motorcycle with two youths riding it crashed into his two-wheeler. All the three were tossed up in the air, and then crashed into the ground.

Passersby took them to hospital but Raghuramaiah died on the way. He was not wearing helmet. Traffic on the flyover was disrupted for sometime until the police removed the vehicles involved in the accident.

The youths on the other motorcycle — police identified them as Mayank, a second-year BBA student and his friend Yashraj Singh — are being treated at a private hospital and are out of danger. They were on their way to visit a friend for dinner when the accident occurred.

The Peenya traffic police are investigating whether they rode the two-wheeler in a rash and negligent manner. A case of causing death due to negligence has been registered.
