Intermittent showers in parts of state

Intermittent rain of moderate intensity lashed various parts of the state on Friday.

Dakshina Kannada district received occasional rain in the day. In the last 24 hours (ending Friday 8 am), the district recorded an average of 42.5 mm of rainfall. The water level in streams and rivers in the district has increased following rain in the last two days.

Several parts of Uttara Kannada district received moderate and intermittent rain. While it rained heavily in Sirsi, Siddapur, Kumta and Haliyal, there was moderate rain in Bhatkal, Mundgod and Yellapur. A tree fell on the road near Kadra in Karwar taluk, affecting movement of vehicles.

In the last 24 hours (ending Friday 8.30 am), Uttara Kannada district recorded an average of 51 mm of rain. While it rained 90 mm in Bhatkal, Karwar received 87.40 mm, Kumta (78.10 mm,) Ankola (74.40 mm) Honnavar (58.20 mm), Joida (47 mm), Sirsi (34.50 mm) and Haliyal received 21.2 mm of rain.

Belagavi and Khanapur taluks received mild occasional showers while overcast conditions prevailed in rest part of the district.

Mild showers lashed for over an hour in Belagavi and Khanapur early in the morning. There was intermittent drizzle in Bailhongal, Kittur, Athani and surrounding areas. Kalaburagi also received moderate rain in the day.

After a gap of almost a week, Dharwad and the surrounding areas received intermittent rain. The district has not received heavy rain during this kharif season. According to the forecast, rain would continue for the next two days.

It drizzled intermittently for the whole day in Davangere. Dank weather prevailed in the city.
