Creating an entirely new segment with the launch of the all-new V90 Cross Country, Volvo Cars has introduced an exciting product for adventurous car buyers in India. Globally, this segment was created by Volvo Cars 20 years back, and has become an integral part of the growing product portfolio.

The new Volvo V90 Cross Country is set to fulfill an increasingly important part of the discerning luxury car buyers’ requirement by providing a product apt for the Indian road conditions as luxury car buyers seek a more adventurous lifestyle that occasionally takes them off the beaten track.

“The Volvo V90 Cross Country is an embodiment of a perfect ‘Get Away’. The car has remarkable off-roading performance, on-road comfort and luxury. It is designed for Indian road conditions and is in sync with the new-age luxury customer’s lifestyle of seeking a weekend escape. The car is equipped with features that is unparalleled in the segment and, as part of the product strategy to provide feature-rich standard equipment, we expect V90 Cross Country to bring a healthy contribution to our portfolio,” Tom von Bonsdorff, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India, said.

A stand-out exterior design that exudes rugged character combines with a definitive calm Swedish interior that manifests the proposition of luxury. Intuitive touch-enabled infotainment amplifies ease of access to the cars features and the 19-speakers Bowers & Wilkins surround submerges you in the sonic experience. The Nappa leather seats with front seats ventilated for heating/cooling, massage and seat extenders adds to the comfort quotient in the car. The cabin noise is reduced to cocoon you in luxury.

The V90 Cross Country stands tall with 210 mm unladen ground clearance, taller than most SUVs offered in the segment. The Haldex AWD system, Hill Descent Control and an off-road driving mode makes it the perfect off-roader for the weekend trail. The heart of the V90 Cross Country is a robust diesel engine that has a Volvo invention — Power Pulse Technology. This feature spools up the turbo instantly thereby negating any turbo-lag from a stop-go situation, Power Pulse provides a constant boost to the acceleration.

This twin-turbo engine delivers 235 hp and 480 Nm torque coupled with an 8-Speed gearbox, with paddle shifts ensuring a smooth or a sporty performance. The car is priced Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom India).
