That’s probably why ‘Cafe Felix’ in 1MG Mall is a good place for one to visit at any time of the day. After all, you know you can have breakfast at any time of the day!
What sets ‘Cafe Felix’ apart from other diners is its location. On one side, you have the Ulsoor Lake while the other side overlooks the busy MG Road. It’s a great place to enjoy a sunset too.
On to the menu, the restaurant offers an all-day menu that will surely bring back memories for you. With categories like power bowls, all-day breakfast, loaded burgers and sandwiches, thin crust pizzas, pasta, old-school sundaes, this is a place where there’s something for everyone.
If you’re in the mood for breakfast, go for the waffles or you might just be drooling when someone else orders it.
The salads are fresh and unique. If you want something from the superfood section, the ‘Quinoa salad’ with the addition of citrus fruits and chickpea makes a great choice.
The ‘Prawn and raw mango salad’ is also a crowdpuller. It comes with soba noodles, peanuts and Thai chilli dressing ‑ a fantastic way to start the meal.
They prepare everything from scratch including the bread, which is why the ‘Avocado toast’ is a must-have. The crushed avocado, goat cheese, tomato salsa on sour dough bread gives one a light and refreshing flavour. However, the topping is a little messy, so keep your plates and napkins ready to avoid that.
The pizzas offered here are with a thin crust. The ‘Jerk chicken, scamoraza, bell peppers and artichoke’ and ‘Roasted mushroom, scamorza, Porcini pesto and confit garlic pizza’ are good choices.
If you want something on the light side but which is filling, the options in the ‘bistro’ section are recommended. The ‘Pan roasted dish with chimichurri and cherry tomato stew’ is a treat for both eyes and palate. It leaves that lingering taste in your mouth for a few seconds, making you crave for more.
The ‘Spicy Korean spiced Coimbatore pork ribs’ is also a delightful item. The portions are good enough for one person, leaving you enough room for desserts.
Since the ice creams here are homemade, it would be unfair not to taste them. ‘The ‘Hazelnut brittle’ and ‘Coffee chocolate ice cream’ are good flavours if that’s what you’re craving for. But if you are in the mood to experiment, the ‘Passion fruit creme brulee’ is an option. However, it might not be everyone’s cup of tea or bowl, in this case.
Wash it down with drinks of your choice, especially with their in-house smoothies and slushies.
If you want something light and not too sweet, the ‘Date and banana smoothie’ and ‘Chocolate and avocado smoothie’ are recommended.
For mocktails, the ‘Jalapeno and guava mocktail’ is a must. The hint of heat and the flavour is guava is exceptional.
