“It’s saddening to hear that someone who I adored as a child gave up his life. I grew up listening to ‘Numb’, ‘In The End’, ‘Iridiscent’ and ‘New Divide. On most nights, my friends and I would meet on the terrace, listen to the songs and talk about our day. The song ‘Iridiscent’ is special to me as it helped me get over a tough time in 2011. Listening to his songs gives me goosebumps now. He is gone but not forgotten.

“The news came as a big shocker. ‘Linkin Park’ and Chester Bennington has been a part of my life for 15 years now. In fact, we share our birthday (March 20). His voice has been a companion during some of my lonely times. His songs have also been a part of every karaoke night and road trip that I have done with my friends. It’s a personal loss ‑ a childhood hero gone forever, but his voice will live on.”

“I used to start my show sometimes with ‘Linkin Park’ songs just to get me in the good zone. It’s all the more special to introduce and play songs that you are really passionate about. Chester’s voice and music had impacted us to a point where your life was complete having the songs around. And now that he is no more, his songs will haunt us even more. People will try and find meaning to the songs and lyrics. But mental health and depression is not to be taken lightly. I hope people take something positive from every event that happens, good or bad.”

 Sam Mathew, Software Engineer

“Chester Bennington, to me, was ‘Linkin Park’ ‑ a band that was part of my journey through teenage years. Songs like ‘Numb’ and ‘Breaking the Habit’ resounded a lot with what I was going through at the time and I believe this holds true for quite a lot of us. I haven’t heard of any their latest albums songs, but I guess I will be doing that now. It was saddening to hear that the singer took his life, but in the end, as he sang ‘Keep me in your memory, leave out all the rest’.”
