HC junks rowdy Nagaraj's plea for CBI enquiry

Last Updated 21 July 2017, 19:39 IST

The High Court of Karnataka on Friday dismissed a petition filed by history-sheeter V Nagaraj and his two sons who sought a CBI enquiry into complaints filed against them over the seizure of demonetised currency notes from Nagaraj’s house in Srirampuram.

Seven complaints have been filed against Nagaraj and his sons.

Nagaraj had approached the court contending that the police registered false cases against him and his sons and the city police were wrongly implicating him in many cases in which he was not involved.

Justice Aravind Kumar dismissed the petition on the grounds that when the police are already investigating the cases, there was no need for a CBI probe.
