JOIN USThe police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of history-sheeter Pawan Raj Shetty, who was hacked to death at Vamanjoor on July 24.
Bipin Jogi alias Ganesh Rao (29), Charan alias Charan Raj alias Rajesh (22) and Harish poojary alias Nonaiah (28) were arrested at KSRTC bus stand at Puttur on Wednesday.
Pawan, son of history-sheeter Vamanjoor Rohi, was murdered late night of July 24. His body was found near an old house at Amruthnagara in Thiruvail of Vamanjoor.
Five held for gambling
The police raided a gambling house at Balmatta Road in Mangaluru and arrested five persons on
Wednesday.
The arrested are Nithesh (23) of Pandeshwara, Mohammed (49) of Kunjathoor in Kasargod, Chandra Shetty (43) of Belthangady, Diwakara (53) of Jeppu and Rama Poojary (38) of Kundapura. The police have seized Rs 11, 800, cards and other things used for gambling.
Ganja seized
The police arrested a drug peddler at Royal Garden in Kalsanka and seized 1,450 gm ganja worth Rs 45,000.
According to police, the accused Ubedullah from Mallaru in Udupi, was found with the drug. The police also seized the motorbike used for crime. A case has been registered in Udupi town police station.
