The Hulimavu and Bannerghatta police are on the manhunt for a man who misbehaved with a woman who had contested in the Mrs India beauty contest recently. The incident happened on NICE Road on Sunday, the police said.

The victim, who uploaded a post about the incident on the official Facebook page of Bengaluru City Police (BCP), alleged that she was on her way home with her husband when their car broke down on NICE Road near the Bannerghatta toll booth. Leaving her in the car, her husband took a lift from a motorist to bring a mechanic.

While she was waiting alone in the locked car, a man wearing lingerie and lipstick appeared out of nowhere and started scaring her. He then made obscene gestures, trying to misbehave with her. The petrified victim raised an alarm. However, though many vehicles passed by, none stopped to help her out, she said in he post. She even tried to call the NICE helpline, but in vain. The suspect managed to escape soon after the victim tried to click his photograph using her mobile phone, she stated. She also said that the man was wearing a white helmet and seemed mentally disturbed.

Based on her complaint on Facebook, the social media team forwarded it to the jurisdictional police, who have now launched a manhunt for the suspect based on CCTV footage. However, the victim has still not approached the police to lodge a formal complaint.

The police are also trying to get in touch with her to ascertain more clues about the suspect, a senior police officer said.
