Deputy Commissioner K V Trilok Chandra said a plan would be chalked out to address the burning issues in the district based on the suggestions provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at “New India-Manthan” interaction proggramme.

Speaking to reporters, he said the prime minister in his first-of-its-kind interaction with the deputy commissioner across the country through video-conferencing, had briefed them about what the country aimed to achieve in the next five years. The interaction marked the 75th anniversary of the Quit India Movement.

He said a detailed study to identify the problems and the ways to address them, would be conducted, laying the main focus on solving the problem of water, increasing the agricultural yield, industrial growth and employment generation.

“The prime minister has suggested that top priority be given to cleanliness at all levels of development, and popularising GST, ‘Digital India’ and Swachh Bharath schemes among others. We vow to complete them within the next five years,” Trilok Chandra said.
