Four security personnel injured in grenade attack

Three paramilitary troopers and a policeman were wounded when militants lobbed a grenade on a CRPF party in Magam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday.

Reports said the militants threw a grenade on the CRPF party in Magam, 25 km from here, this afternoon which exploded with a big bang.  Three CRPF and one police personnel sustained splinter injuries in the attack and all of them were removed to the hospital.

Soon after the attack, large posse of police, Army and CRPF rushed to the spot and launched searches to track down the attackers.

On Saturday evening, a civilian was killed after suspected militants hurled a grenade at a police naka near Budyari Chowk, Dalgate in Srinagar. Militants have been using grenade attacks frequently against the security forces in the last few months.

On June 13, a series of five grenade attacks rocked southern Kashmir in which eight CRPF personnel and four policemen were injured.
