Land survey in 5 districts

Revenue minister Karunakara Reddy, at a press conference in Bangalore on Thursday, said the survey would be helpful in solving many civil disputes. The pilot survey would be completed by August 2010. Once the survey is completed, tracing status of any property would be easy, he said.

The minister said the government would recover the government land, encroached upon by private people. In Bangalore division about 2.96 lakh acres had been encroached upon. Around 33,000 acres had been encroached upon in and around Bangalore. The government would recover the land through legal process.
