Irregularities in Mahamastakabhisheka development works suspected: Revanna

Holenarasipur MLA H D Revanna, on Thursday, alleged that district in-charge minister A Manju has failed to follow the cabinet decisions in connection with the development works related to Mahamastakabhisheka.

Addressing reporters, here, Revanna said, the government has allotted Rs 12 crore for the construction of an attic around the statue of Bahubali, and Rs 75 crore for establishment of 15 satellite towns.

“Even though the works should have been executed by the Public Works department (PWD), the minister has handed over the construction works to the State Road Development Corporation (KSRDC). It is not clear whether the minister has taken either the district administration or the Mahamastakabhisheka celebration committee into confidence, he said.

Suspecting irregularities in the execution of the works, Revanna asked, why has Manju handed over the works to the KSRDC?

Recalling the previous Mahamastakabhisheka celebration, held 12 years ago, Revanna said, the attic was developed at a cost of Rs 4 crore.

He asked the district administration to take proper measures to execute the works in an economical way.

Prajwal’s candidature
When asked about his son Prajwal Revanna’s candidature from Rajarajeshwari Assembly constituency in the upcoming elections in 2018, Revanna said, JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy would decide about it.

“During his tenure as chief minister, Kumaraswamy introduced several pro-people schemes. He effected tremendous changes in the education sector. So, the JD (S) will come to power,” he said.

When asked about JD(S) rebel MLAs making a trip to Delhi, Revanna said, the
Congress party is protecting them.

“Let All India Congress Committee vice president Rahul Gandhi ask all the rebel MLAs to resign. Let him ask them to contest the election again. All these MLAs got their identity only through the JD(S), said Revanna.
