Showers lash parts of city, more rain over next two days

Moderate to heavy showers lashed several parts of the city on Saturday evening.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city received 11.8 mm rainfall (till 8.30 pm) on Saturday while HAL airport experienced 18.6 mm rainfall.

The city is likely to experience a few spells of moderate to heavy rainfall in the next two to three days. “The northern districts of Karnataka bordering Telangana will receive very heavy rainfall. However, there is no cyclone warnings for Bengaluru. The city is likely to receive 11 mm to 13 mm of rain,” an IMD official said.

Tree falls have been reported at Gangothri Hospital in BTM Layout, Remco Layout in Vijayanagar, Jain Hospital in Vasanth Nagar, Golf Course near Ashoka Hotel, Maruthi Seva Nagar, HBR Layout, Ali Askar Road, Banashankari 2nd Stage, Rajaji Nagar 4th N Block, Leprosy Hospital on Magadi Road, Madappanapalya in Mahalakshmi Layout, Thyagaraja Nagar, Subramanya Nagar, BTM Layout 28th main 2nd stage, CV Raman Nagar, Nrupatunga Road, R R Layout, Vijaya Bank Layout, NTTF Road in Peenya.
