JOIN USIn the latest incident, the victim and her boyfriend were returning on his bike but at Pimple Gurav, they had to abandon the motorcycle on roadside as it went dry of fuel. The two began walking when suddenly, two soldiers of the Army’s Rajputana Rifles regiment on patrolling, accosted them and beat the boy mercilessly. The jawans then raped the girl.
The duo took the girl’s mobile number and warned both the girl and her boyfriend to keep quite or face dire consequences.
The incident might have never come to notice as the victim did not tell anybody about it for 24 hours, but on Thursday, the jawans called her on her mobile and asked her to meet them at a particular place.
This enraged the girl and shedding fear she went to the Sanghvi police station to lodge complaint of rape. After intitial probe, the police zeroed in on the two jawans and arrested them.The two jawans were identified as Rajnish Kumar Suresh Chandra and Saminder Singh Nepali. The duo was produced in a Morwadi court later on Friday and remanded to police custody.
