JOIN USAman Mallaya’s 11-wicket haul for the match went in vain as Frank Anthony Public School (FAPS) lost to Gopalan National School by four wickets in the Group I, Division I under -16 cricket tournament for KSCA Cup here.
FAPS batted first and were bundled out for a meagre 72 in 33.1 overs, with Vishal Kumar (4/26) and Pratyush G (3/11) doing the damage for Gopalan.
In reply, Aman wreaked havoc with the ball, claiming six wickets (6/13) to bowl out Gopalan for just 61 in 29.4 overs.
Aman’s effort hardly made any difference as FAPS’ batsmen disappointed yet again and fell for 55 in 52.2 overs.
Abhishek C Kalambi shone with four wickets (4/19) for Gopalan while Vishal (2/6), Neralkar Yash (2/15) and Pratyush (2/8) chipped in with two wickets each.
Needing 66 runs to win, Gopalan managed to held their own and reached the target (68/6) in 34.2 overs. For FAPS, Aman again stole the show with a five-for (5/21).
Gopalan earned four points for the victory while a point was deducted for FAPS.
In another game, St Joseph’s Boys’ High School beat Presideny School by an innings and 199 runs.
