JOIN USCongress leader Sachin Pilot has demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should declare BJP’s chief ministerial candidate for the Assembly elections to be held in December 2018.
Pilot said, “(BJP national president) Amit Shah disclosed the chief ministerial candidates in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka, but did not do so during his recent visit to Rajasthan. So now, Modi should disclose the name during his Udaipur visit.”
Pilot also demanded loan waivers for farmers in the state.
Lashing out at the Vasundhara Raje government for negligence towards farmers, Pilot said, “Several states have announced crop loan waiver, but no such initiative has been taken in Rajasthan. There cannot be double standards for farmers. When the prime minister visits Udaipur, he should announce loan waiver.”.
According to Pilot, nearly 60 farmers committed suicide in the state last year, while 16 farmers killed themselves this year.
