Vishnu fans to protest uncertainty on memorial

Late Kannada actor Vishnuvardhan's fans have decided to mark the actor's 67th birth anniversary on September 18 in a simple way protesting against the delay in deciding on the location for his memorial.

"Three separate locations were identified for the memorial, but different parties moved the high court against land acquisition. The government has ignored repeated pleas for the speedy disposal of petitions and to construct the memorial at the earliest," said VSS Vishnu Sena Sanghatane state president Raju Gowda.

"We will organise a series of protests against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the state government if they fail to build the memorial before Vishnuvardhan's birth anniversary," he said.
