ASSOCHAM has been mandated by the Information & Broadcasting Ministry to organise the India pavilion during May 13-24, when the festival will be held at the Mediterranean beachfront town in southern France. Over 100 countries are scheduled to participate in the festival to exhibit their films and promote co-productions, shooting locales and technologies.

While India produces the largest number of films each year, it is yet to become a global player in revenue terms, and that is why the industry and the government are putting emphasis on visibility of the country’s cinema at the premier film festival.

ASSOCHAM members, the Hinduja Group and the UB Group, will host two exclusive networking dinners during the festival with a view to providing a platform for Indian industry representatives to interact with global players.

CII too will make its presence felt at the festival by coordinating business meetings for Indian sales agents, film & TV production companies, content sellers, line producers, studios and technology service providers. “The idea is to maximise the potential and do focused meetings,” CII officials said.
