While praising the bravery and valour of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF personnel in fighting against terrorism, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Sunday said that Center has ordered for bullet proof vehicles at all police stations in the state.

“Orders have been issued for bullet proof vehicles at all police stations in Jammu and Kashmir. Our jawans should also get bullet proof jackets and fund for this has been released,” Singh, who is currently on a four-day visit to the state, said in an interaction with police and CRPF personnel in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

The announcement comes in the backdrop of reports that SHO Feroz Dar, who was killed along with five other policemen on June 16 in an attack by militants in Achabal area of Anantnag had requisitioned a bullet-proof vehicle, but was not provided one.
While addressing police personnel in Anantnag, he said, "You are working in extremely challenging conditions here. I don't have words to praise the bravery of our brave police personnel. Even the PM has praised your courage."

While addressing CRPF personnel in the same district, the Home Minister said, "We are proud of our CRPF personnel. Courage cannot be purchased from any market. You are born with unassailable and unmatched courage.

He announced that in a bid to provide better services to the paramilitary service, the government will consider helicopter services for them. Singh assured the security brass that issues like allowance parity are being actively considered.

The Union Minister also announced that the Center was ready to have a discussion with anyone with an open mind and listen to people’s problems. However, he said, no power in the world can stop from bringing peace in Kashmir. “I appeal to everyone to come forward to have a discussion if you have any complaints or qualms. I am ready to have talks with an open heart, he said.

Singh asserted that Kashmir will get rid of violence and will become heaven soon. On Saturday Singh interacted with more than 20 delegations from different walks of life on the first day of his four-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He also had a one-on-one meeting with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Governor N N Vohra.

The Home Minister also reviewed progress on the implementation of the Rs 80,000-crore Prime Minister's Development package for Jammu and Kashmir and directed officials to expedite work.
