Well, you don’t have to wonder anymore, for Fox Life has recently launched a new show on design called Design HQ with interior designer Ashiesh Shah as its anchor.
Through the show, Ashiesh Shah will take you into the beautiful, luxurious homes of some of his celebrity friends like Hrithik Roshan, Jacqueline Fernandes, Pernia Qureshi, Aditya Roy Kapoor, A D Singh and more.
The show promises to delve into how the homes of these celebrities came to be, and the inspiration behind their personal spaces. What more, the interior designer will also show you how to recreate the styles of these celebrity homes in your humble abode through the show’s DIY segment!
In conversation with Sunday Herald, Ashiesh shares his thoughts on the show, and more:
Tell us a little bit about ‘Design HQ’.
Design HQ is all about decoding how to get the perfect interiors for your home. It brings forth a creative facet of lifestyle for the viewers - design and home décor. In addition to some great DIY tips, the show also takes viewers into the homes of their favourite celebrities.
What do you want the viewers to take away from this show?
Design HQ is all about decoding how you can ‘design your own space’, and I’m looking forward to really breaking down the design process for our viewers. I’m also really looking forward to showing our viewers these homes. At the end of every episode, I’ll share interesting design hacks and tricks in a DIY segment, inspired by the celebrity home I visit. I think they’re extremely adaptable, and like I mentioned earlier, we’ll be giving our viewers a lot of tips, tricks and DIY hacks to help them create ‘the’ look!
Do you recall any episodes that stand out for you?
It’s hard to pick a favourite! Each space really represents the personality of the homeowner. Not to mention, I spent so much time on the projects that they all feel very close to me. I love Hrithik’s study — we put in a lot of effort to customise it and create the aesthetic he wanted. In Jacqueline’s home, I love the daybed and her bedroom. At Aditya’s, I love the main living area — it really does feel like the perfect bachelor pad!
What made you take up this show?
I think it was all about trying to make design more accessible.

Tell us about the DIY segment of the show.
The DIY segment is very exciting. I’m waiting to present it to the viewers. Not only will we be breaking down and showing our viewers how to recreate elements from the celebrities’ homes, but we will also be giving them some fantastic design hacks.
Any specific reasons for your choice of celebrities for the show?
I have designed these houses, so I’m really happy to be sharing these with our viewers. Having spent so much time in these projects, it’s great to be able to show our viewers my design process in general - from the drawing board to reality.
