"Godzilla: King of the Monsters" director Michael Dougherty has released the first pictures of the monster.

Dougherty took to Twitter on the 69th day of filming and shared a CG image of the titular creature roaring back to life on a screen.

Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, and O'Shea Jackson Jr feature in "King of the Monsters," set for release on March 22, 2019.

Gareth Edwards directed 2014's "Godzilla", which saw nature's guardian rise from the sea to do battle against gargantuan beasts.

Following "King of the Monsters", "Godzilla vs Kong" from Adam Wingard will hit theaters on May 22, 2020.

The official synopsis as released for "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" reads: "The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance."
