Amid growing controversy with regard to the mystery behind the death of Jayalalithaa, ousted AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran on Monday claimed that his aunt V K Sasikala only took the video footage of the then former chief minister while the AIADMK leader was watching television in the hospital.

"Amma (Jayalalithaa) only asked my aunt to take the video. The  footage could not be released to the public since "Amma" was wearing nighty. It was taken when Jayalalithaa was shifted from ICU to general ward", Dhinakaran said.

However, the sidlined leader said the video footage, which contains the images of Jayalalithaa watching television in the hospital, will be released at "appropriate time".

Stating that he and his aunt Sasikala were not worried about the enquiry with regard to the death of Jayalalithaa, Dhinakaran said "even if interpool's investigation, we are not bothered".

Recently, Tamil Nadu forest minister Dindigul Srinivasan's claim that he "lied" about the health condition of late AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa while she was in the hospital has created controversy with Opposition parties demanding immediate probe into  the mystery behind the death of former chief minister.

Dhinakaran also said even Sasikala was not allowed to stay parmanently with Jayalalithaa when she was under treatment in the Apollo Hospitals. "My aunt had stayed in a separate room in the hospital. She use to go once in a while to see "Amma" only after getting permission from the doctors".
