Cong believes in dynasty, BJP in performance, says Shah

BJP president Amit Shah on Monday attacked Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for his comment that “dynasty” is a part of India and said it is only the tradition of the Congress, while his party believed in “politics of performance”.

Shah, attempting to set the tone for coming state polls, including in Gujarat, also criticised Gandhi for what he called undermining India during his recent US trip and gave a “befitting reply” with facts to counter the Opposition leader’s narrative about the ruling
dispensation.

In his inaugural address at the party conclave, the BJP chief condemned the “hate politics” being encouraged in Kerala and planned a 15-day long protest march in the state from October 3 to build public opinion against the attacks on saffron workers by communist cadres.

“The Congress believes in the politics of appeasement and dynasty, whereas BJP follows politics of performance. Both, the Congress and Gandhi disapprove of the politics of performance, but BJP will continue to work for the country on the basis of such politics,” union minister Piyush Goyal quoted Shah as having told the gathering. The extended national executive was not open to media.

He reiterated that Ram Nath Kovind could become President, M Venkaiah Naidu Vice President and Modi Prime Minister due to their work and not because of family connections.

Rahul, at one of his interactions at a US university, had said that dynasty ruled politics, bollywood and other spheres in the country. He also took a jibe at Modi government saying violence and politics of polarisation have taken centre stage.
