The much-awaited trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum-opus Padmavati is finally out.

Bhansali chose a special timing to launch the trailer of ‘Padmavati’. The trailer released at 13.03 hours, connects to the period in which the movie is set. As the lead characters of the film Maharawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor’s character) and Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh’s character) started their battle in 1303 AD.

With the sizzling romance of Deepika and Shahid, a glimpse of fierce battle sequence between Ratan Singh and Khilji is also seen in the trailer.

Deepika comes across as headstrong and righteous as Rani Padmavati in her majestic traditional 'poshak' (outfit), never seen without her 'nath', while Shahid does justice to the gutsy and never-say-die attitude that Rajputs swear by.

Ranveer, as the antagonist Khilji, appears darkly eccentric, self-obsessed and strangely vulnerable.

The background score deftly switches the glorious mood of the film to a sombre one, leading the viewers to imagine the dark end of the saga.

The first look of the lead characters from this historical drama had garnered huge appreciation from the film lovers.

‘Padmavati’ starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor set to release on December 1.
