Multilingual actor Prakash Rai on Tuesday said that nobody in this country has the right to ridicule others, but everyone has the right to protest.

He was attending an event in Udupi to receive  'Shivarama Karanth Huttura Prashasti' conferred by Kotatattu Gram Panchayat.

Prakash Rai received a grand welcome from progressive front groups near Santhakatte, in Udupi.

Speaking to them, Rai said, "Opinions can be condemned, but cruelty is not good. One should not attempt to shut someone else's mouth. The person who is honest with nature and does not involve in activities against people will be able to create a better living environment".

'You have proved that the sounds of anxiety are not lonely. When somebody raised their voice against me, you have stood beside me. This has given me courage," he added.
