Actor Avinash has been a part of Kannada, Tamil and Telugu industries for two decades.
He made his debut in Kannada with K V Raju’s ‘Bandhamuktha’ and has given a slew of hits such as ‘Dweepa’, ‘Mathadana’, ‘Singaaravva’ and ‘Huliya’.

In Tamil, he essayed a great performance in ‘Chandramukhi’. In Telugu, he is known for his exceptional performance in ‘Nagavalli’ with actor Venkatesh and in ‘Damarukam’ with Nagarjuna.

He will soon be seen in Kannada films ‘David’ and ‘Gultoo’. He will also be playing prominent roles in ‘Kurukshetra’ and ‘Home Minister’ with actor Upendra.

Author
DH Lawrence

“I was a student of literature, so there really isn’t any novel or classic that I haven’t read. But if I have to pick out one, then it has to be D H Lawrence. I like the way he wrote about human relationships. He delved into relationships between a mother and son and wrote extensively about nature. His love for things around him was amazing. Closer home, I admire the works of K Shivaram Karanth and Poornachandra Tejaswi.”

Music
Dr Rajkumar

“I enjoy listening to Dr Rajkumar sing. He was not only a brilliant actor but also a wonderful singer. There was a lot of emotion in his voice. He was in that sense a complete actor. I also like Yesudas and find his renditions soothing. I have a good collection of both his film numbers and classical songs.
My other favourites are Ilayaraja and A R Rahman.”

Travel
England

“My wife and I find the smallest excuse to travel to England. There’s a small town called Fresh Ford, about 100 miles from London, where we like to spend our vacation. We look forward to going back there over and over again. I also like visiting Mysuru. It has a rich heritage and culture like none other. Whether on work or otherwise, I enjoy travelling.”

Actor
Denzel Washington

“I have always admired the films of Denzel Washington. He has a unique style of acting. His performances are very intense. I also follow the films of Leonardo DiCaprio. He has managed to achieve so much at a very young age and has set a benchmark for other
actors in his age group.”

Food
Dosa

“I not a great eater and I am very conscious about what I eat. I am a vegetarian and prefer homemade food. I love ‘dosa’ in just about any form. I am also most content with ‘Anna sambhar’ and ‘Rasam and rice’. I always try the local food of the place I am visiting. I like the steamed vegetables that one gets abroad because they are fresh. When I was single, I used to cook a lot. I have done my experiments with ‘Sambhar’, ‘Bisi bele bath’ and ‘Akki roti’. Now, my wife has taken over the kitchen.”

Inspiration
K V Raju

“When I started my career, it was director K V Raju who gave me my first break and created a platform for me and actor Devaraj. He has been a great source of encouragement. During my students days, I was inspired by Prof C D Narasimhia. I was a student of literature and Narasimhia taught me the etiquettes of life. I also
looked up to U R Ananthamurthy. He was my mentor and guide.”
