The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and fire brigade personnel fished out the body of 22-year-old Pushpa from a rajakaluve near Kumbalgodu on Mysuru Road on Sunday at 11.30 am. Pushpa and her mother Ningamma were washed away in the drain at Kurubarahalli on Friday night.

The NDRF and fire brigade personnel are on the lookout for the body of Ningamma (57). After the heavy downpour on Friday night, Ningamma and Pushpa were washed away in a drain at Laggere near Kurubarahalli.

Ningamma and Pushpa had come out of their house which was situated in a low-lying area when it was flooded on Friday night. They were sucked into the currents in the stormwater drain.

NDRF, the fire brigade and BBMP personnel intensified the search along the stretch of the stormwater drains (SWD) after the incident. The body was later sent for postmortem and handed over to grieving family.
