DEMU coaches to power electric trains

The South Western Railway (SWR) will replace the Diesel Electrical Multiple Unit (DEMU) rakes plying on three routes with electric trains consisting of 9 trailing cars by Thursday.

With this, the train numbers of some of the rakes have also undergone a change.

Marikuppam – KSR Bengaluru – Marikuppam DEMU (Train No 56507/56508) will run as MEMU with new train nu mbers 66545/66546 by Thursday.

Bangarpet – Marikuppam – Bangarpet DEMU (Train No 56511/56512) will becme a MEMU train with numbers 66547/66548.

The train numbers of Whitefield – Baiyyappanahalli – Whitefield (06593/06594) remain unchanged.

Marikuppam – KSR Bengaluru – Marikuppam DEMU (train no 76519/76520) started run as train no 66519/66520 with effect from Wednesday from KSR Bengaluru.

The Marikuppam – Bangarpet – Marikuppam DEMU (76517/76518) will run as train no 66517/66518.

Diversion of trains

Bengaluru Cantonment – Kamakhya Express (train no 12503) journey commencing on October 20 and 27 and Yeshwantpur – Kamakhya Express (train no 12551) of October 28 will run via New Golakganj instead of New Alipurduar, due to operational reasons.
