BJP leader B J Puttaswamy on Tuesday threatened to stage a protest in front of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) office if it fails to file an FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the denotification of BDA land near Hebbal.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on Tuesday, MLC Puttaswamy said that if ACB fails to file the FIRs against Siddaramaiah, then the party would drag the agency to court. The denotification pertains to 6.26 acres of prime land at Bhoopasandra near Hebbal, he added.

Puttaswamy also demanded that the government should constitute a legal team headed by former Lokayukta Santhosh Hegde to scrutinise the charges. He said that he had submitted documents pertaining to both cases to the Chief Minister’s Office.

He demanded that Siddaramaiah should step down if the illegalities were proven by the legal team. In case the documents failed to substantiate the charges levelled by him, Puttaswamy said he would hang himself.
