Police have arrested five young men for vandalising vehicles in South Bengaluru’s Girinagar on October 15.

Madhusudhan (20), of SBM Colony, Dhanush (20), of Thyagaraja Nagar, Sudarshan (20), of Nagendra Block, Rahul (19), of Kempegowda Nagar, and Rakshit (19), of Srinivasanagar, are the suspects. Police have seized two motorcycles used in the crime.

The five partied at the New Shakthi Bar on the night of October 15. After getting drunk, they rode on two motorcycles to Muneshwara and Nagendra Blocks and started randomly vandalising vehicles with wooden planks and hockey sticks. They smashed the windows and windshields of at least five cars, besides bullying people who questioned their actions. The five, however, fled the spot after a large crowd gathered there. The vehicle owners later filed a police complaint. Based on the CCTV footage, police picked up the suspects on Friday.

Police are looking out for two other suspects whom they identified as Karthik, of Avalahalli, and Keerthan, of SBM Colony. Madhusudhan, one of the arrested suspects, is an accused in a dacoity case registered at the Girinagar police station while Rahul and Dhanush have cases against them at the Channammanakere Achukattu police station.
