mPhone forays into Karnataka

Kochi-based mobile manufacturer, mPhone Electronics and Technologies Private Limited, on Saturday unveiled its Android-based ‘mPhone 7s’ range in Bengaluru.

Talking to DH, mPhone Chairman Roji Augustine said the company is going ahead with its plans of Make-in-India. “We will open our new plant in Gurugram next year. This will help us take our revenues to the ambitious target of Rs 2,000 crore by next year,” said Augustine.

mPhone 7s, which comes with dual rear camera with front and rear LED flash, has 3GB RAM with 32 GB internal memory and weighs 150 gm. mPhone 7s uses 8GB plus 256 GB deca-core technology.

The phone is operated with Android Noughat and is available in five colour variants. Even with the 5.5 inches anti-scratch screen, the device measures 7mm thickness, a company release said.

On India marketing strategy, Augustine said the company will tie up with ecommerce platforms and offline stores. “We are looking at a hybrid marketing strategy in India so that we can attract both the youth and rural markets across the country,” he said.

Ambidant in Bengaluru is the authorised distributor of mPhone across Karnataka. mPhone series are also available in the Middle East, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Africa. The company has its R&D centre in South Korea.

The company developed mPhone Self developed Mu OS v1.0 Alphonso, interface based on Android 7.0. Till now, the company has launched seven products in the market.
