'Mentally challenged' boy crashes car into compound, none hurt

A 15-year-old boy, son of a security guard, drove car belonging to the president of National Commission for Safai Karmacharis and crashed into a compound wall and two cars at 4th Cross in Sampangirama Nagar on Saturday night.

President of the Commission, M R Venkatesh, told DH, “Security guard’s family stays on the premises of the office of the Commission in Sampangirama Nagar. Officials park the cars and keep the keys in the commission’s office. The boy noticed this and drove the car and thereby causing the accident. The boy is mentally challenged and he does not know driving.

‘None injured’

He turned on the ignition accidentally as the car rammed into a compound wall and the cars parked nearby. Luckily, no one injured in the incident, he explained.

The Wilson Garden police have registered a case against the boy and his father.
