The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday issued a notice to the state government on a public interest litigation filed by Agni Aero Sports Aventure Academy Pvt Ltd.
Justice A S Bopanna was hearing a petition questioning the permission granted to conduct a drag race in Jakkur Aerodrome for five days starting October 27.
The aviation authorities have granted permission to Geneva Services for conducting the drag race on the aerodrome premises.
According to the petitioner, a designated aerodrome should be used only for flying activities and not for non-aviation activities like drag racing which could pose a threat to the infrastructure or runway of the aerodrome.
