In the wake of the series of threats to Padmavati cast and fimmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the chief of one of the top bodies of Bollywood on Friday, drew parallels to threats and acts of Taliban and the IS.

"And they are roaming alone on the streets. Are they different from #Talibani's & #ISIS ? #ArrestKarniGoons," tweeted veteran filmmaker Ashok Pandit, the convenor of of Indian Film & Television Directors Association.

Over the past couple of days, threats to Bhansali and actor Deepika Padukone, who  has portrayed the role of Rani Padmini, have intensified.

The two male leads in the film - Ranveer Singh, who plays the role of Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor, who portrays Raja Ratan Singh are keeping a low profile.

#Tourism can only boost when U stop beating, abusing, accusing, threatining #filmmakers & Spread love, affection. #AshokeKaHungama #WeSupportPadmavati," Pandit further tweeted.

"The fringe groups want to hurt a lady- the leading lady of the film. Just wondering what would Rani #Padmavati think about it. #WeSupportPadmavati," he added.
