Former Ranji cricketer Panambur Narasimha Bhandary passed away at his residence due to old-age related ailments on Friday. He was aged 78 years.
Fondly referred as 'Bab' Bhandary in cricketing circles, Narasimha Bhandary played for Karnataka and Bihar Ranji sides during his first-class career from 1959-60 to 1961-62. He played along with legends EAS Prasanna and Brijesh Patel.
He made a name for himself in the domestic cricket with his fruitful stint with Bihar Ranji side. He was right-hand batsman and a leg spinner.
Bab Bhandary also played against the visiting England and Pakistan sides. Bhandary was also good at tennis
He is survived by his wife Sheela and son Dilip. The last rites of Narasimha Bhandary were performed at Boloor Crematorium on Saturday.
