<p class="bodytext">The long pending demand of the widening and upgrading of Kodibala-Ontradka stretch on Kadaba-Panja road is being fulfilled as the works have been taken up at a cost of Rs 5 crore. The road acts as a link between Puttur and Sullia taluks.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The widening of the Kadaba-Panja road gains significance as Kadaba is proposed to be a taluk centre in future. Works on the construction of mud road is in progress and the work is expected to be completed in three months.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The people of the region faced a huge inconvenience in moving to Sullia from Kadaba, Panja, Nintikal and Bellare, as the road was narrow. The road also posed a challenge to vehicle riders. The public has been demanding widening of the roads for a long time now.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sullia MLA Angara said that Rs 1.2 crore will be utilised towards the widening of the 2.4 km road from Kodimbala-Ontradka School which connects Kadaba to Panja (9.7 km). The rest of the 5.7 km road will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 4 crore. The grants have been released and the works initiated. The remaining 1.5 km stretch will be developed in the last stage by utilising Rs 1 crore, he said.</p>
