The long pending demand of the widening and upgrading of Kodibala-Ontradka stretch on Kadaba-Panja road is being fulfilled as the works have been taken up at a cost of Rs 5 crore. The road acts as a link between Puttur and Sullia taluks.

The widening of the Kadaba-Panja road gains significance as Kadaba is proposed to be a taluk centre in future. Works on the construction of mud road is in progress and the work is expected to be completed in three months.

The people of the region faced a huge inconvenience in moving to Sullia from Kadaba, Panja, Nintikal and Bellare, as the road was narrow. The road also posed a challenge to vehicle riders. The public has been demanding widening of the roads for a long time now.

Sullia MLA Angara said that Rs 1.2 crore will be utilised towards the widening of the 2.4 km road from Kodimbala-Ontradka School which connects Kadaba to Panja (9.7 km). The rest of the 5.7 km road will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 4 crore. The grants have been released and the works initiated. The remaining 1.5 km stretch will be developed in the last stage by utilising Rs 1 crore, he said.
