JOIN USA 40-year old man was arrested for pouring boiling oil on his wife's legs and assaulting his mother-in-law who came to her rescue.
According to police, the victim who has been identified as Shakuntala (33) suffered 60% of burn injuries. She is under treatment at a hospital. The accused, Shyamsundar, was arrested.
Bagalagunte police who registered a case said that Shyamsundar who works as a driver married Shakuntala 10 years ago. The couple has two children. Recently, the couple began having frequent fights over minor issues. On Thursday night as well, they had a heated argument and in a fit of anger, Shyamsundar poured boiling oil on his wife's legs. He also assaulted his mother-in-law when she rushed to her daughter's rescue. On hearing the commotion, the couple's neighbours informed the police and shifted Shakuntala to a hospital.
