JOIN USThe Codava National Council (CNC) will celebrate Kodava National Day at Gandhi Maidan in the city on November 26 at 10 am. Informing the same to reporters here on Friday, CNC President N U Nachappa said that Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy and Akila Bharat Virat Hindu Sangam General Secretary Jagadeesh Shetty will take part in the programme.
Appealing to members of the public to take part in large numbers, Nachappa said that the people with a mindset of opposing Bharat Ratna award to Field Marshal K M Cariappa are the ones who are opposing the demand for a separate Kodava land as well. "If anyone questions the human slaughter in Devati Parambu, it is termed as communal violence... If someone speaks about land or language, they are termed communal. One cannot even speak on safeguarding the river Cauvery" he rued.
CNC leaders Mookonda Delip, Chambanda Janath Kumar, Katumaniyanda Umesh, Pullera Kalappa and Koopadira Sabu were present.
