The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday questioned the BBMP with regard to compliance with the Indian Road Congress guidelines in the construction of the Shivananda flyover.
Senior Counsel D N Nanjunda Reddy on Tuesday stated that the IRC guidelines with regard to vertical clearance and gradient are only applicable to underpasses and not flyovers.
A division bench of Acting Chief Justice H G Ramesh and Justice P S Dinesh Kumar were hearing a PIL filed by the residents around Shivananda circle.
The project report for the Shivananda flyover has been prepared after a detailed survey and consultation with IISC experts and scientific studies have also been undertaken with regard to its feasibility.
