Thieves escaped with Rs 32.11 lakh cash after breaking an ATM belonging to the State Bank of India on Yellapur Road in Mundgod town in the early hours of Thursday.
The thieves arrived in a car and after ensuring that the security guard was not there, they barged into the ATM kiosk and broke open the ATM machine with the help of a gas cutter and escaped with the booty.
Police are examining the footage from the CCTVs installed inside the ATM kiosk and in the surrounding areas of the town.
A case has been registered in this regard.
