Thailand's Sadom Kaewkanjana held his nerve to record a 8&7 win over Jay Pandya of Gujarat to clinch the 117th All India Amateur Golf Championship here on Sunday.

The Thai, played a solid game on what was a tricky day as per his own admission. "It was a little tricky earlier, but I could adjust well and then got into the mood," said Kaewkanjana describing his performance in the final.

Kaewkanjana, who also won the Philippine Amateur Open Golf Championship at the start of the year, was happy that he could end the year the way he began it. "I started with a title in Philippines and now a win here. I am happy the way things panned out for me. But next year is crucial and I am looking forward to that."

The 19-year-old, who is hoping to turn pro next year said that his focus was now on the Asian Games next year. "The target is to do well at the Asian Games. I am looking to turn pro post it. I want to have a few good games under my belt before that."
