The Authority is also assessing the number of sites that can be created and allotted in the third phase along with the number flats that the site can accommodate.

Currently, the BDA has finalised tenders for the water, sanitary and electricity works in the layout. The work is yet to begin. "Once the works start, people can also go ahead with construction of homes. Only with some visible progress will people buy the applications for the second phase. In the past, many had returned the sites due to high prices. Some people were miffed because of the delay in completing works. So it is unsure if the applications will be sold out by January," a BDA source said.

The source added that the BDA is trying to convince the board and the buyers that all the infrastructural work will be completed and people will not be inconvenienced. However, the board members are not convinced. Thus the proposal to call for applications for the second phase will likely be delayed.
