Last Updated 11 December 2017, 18:00 IST

NWKRTC Chairman Sadanand Danganavar noted that he would urge the government to take action against the guilty in scrap transport irregularity which was unearthed in the NWKRTC regional workshop.

The then managing director of the NWKRTC had submitted the report to the government. As such irregularity is not tolerable, I will write a letter to the government, seeking action at the earliest. Inquiry and action with regard to other alleged irregularities would also be sought, he said.

The government has already been urged to announce 'Sarige Bhagya' scheme to promote public transport, including free bus passes for all students, Rs 100 crore annual special grants to the NWKRTC, and continuation of motor vehicle tax exemption, Mr Danganavar added.
