Opposition to Bidari

Last Updated 12 December 2017, 18:53 IST

BJP leader Ka Pu Siddalingaswamy is opposed to the proposed candidature of former director general and inspector general of police Shankar Bidari from the BJP in Varuna Assembly constituency in the next elections.

Siddalingaswamy said on Tuesday that Bidari would not be allowed to contest from Varuna on the BJP ticket. Speculations are rife that BJP is trying to field Bidari against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son Dr Yathindra who is expected to make his political debut. "Bidari does not belong to our district. He cannot contest from Varuna since his contribution to this region is negligible," he said.
