Valedictory of diamond jubilee celebrations of D group staff on Dec 17

The valedictory of diamond jubilee celebrations of Dakshina Kannada district D Group Government Employees' Association and state convention of Karnataka State Government D Group Employees' Association will be held at Town Hall in Mangaluru on December 17.

Briefing reporters here on Tuesday, Association president Franky Francis Cutinha said that Odiyoor seer Gurudevananda Swami, St Antony Ashrama Director Rev Fr Onil D'Souza and Ullal Sayyed Madani Dargah president Abdul Rahseed will bless the programme. District-in-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai will release the souvenir.

He said the convention will urge the state government to abolish contract system and fill the D group posts lying vacant in various government departments. The delay in payment of salary to D group employees should be solved, he said.

The convention will also urge the state government to constitute sixth wage commission and solve the disparity in central and state government employees.
