CPCRI to host Kisan mela from Jan 5

As part of the foundation day of ICAR-Central Plantation Crops Research Institute and silver jubilee of Krishi Vijnana Kendra here, a mega Kisan mela and agri-business expo has been organised from January 5 to 10 at ICAR-CPCRI, Kasaragod.

According to a press release, various interface programmes, seminars and training programmes involving farmers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders will be organised along with farmers in the meetcumagri-business expo.

The agri-expo will be an ideal platform for growers, wholesalers, importers, exporters and all other stakeholders of every segment of agriculture, horticulture, dairying and animal husbandry, farm machinery and equipment and allied sectors who want to expand and diversify their business and activities. More than two lakh people are expected to visit the stalls in five days.

The visitors profile is vast including farmers, researchers, Import/Export/Trade houses, agri-input dealers, farming groups and farm managers, farmer producer companies, government officials/policy managers, NGOs/SHGs/MSSE, farmer innovators, prospective 'agripreneurs' and students. Prospective visitors will be exposed to a wide range of market novelties and an opportunity to choose technologies/products/services tailor-made for their business venture.

Those interested in expanding their business related to agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and aquaculture can exhibit their products during the Kisan Mela, the release added.
